Montezuma

Montezuma

Iron Kingdom

Is this my final resting place, my final place to dwell
The vile stench of blood and death, this pain as if from hell
A fleet of spanish galleons, are spotted on our seas
The date and time are perfect, no this cannot be
These men of steel and muskets, come from a distant land
In search of gold and glory, is this our final stand?

Montezuma, the ancient prophecy foretold
Montezuma, the coming of a new age
Montezuma, the fall of a mighty empire
Montezuma, a God’s vengeful rage
The temple of the sun God, lies burnt to a crisp
Volcanic eruptions, the water steams below
These signs warned us, of our coming fate
How can our forefathers sins, be laid upon us?

Canon blasts, are carried in the wind
Armed in iron, fearless they march
Through icy cliffs, volcanic ash
Scorched desert valleys, ruthless rapids
They’re horses charge, are they gods or beasts?
It’s too late to make peace
Conquistadors march, with banners raised high
“We conquer in the name of the lord”
Severed bodies, lay across the floor,
We’ve tasted steel, and now we are no more.
