Myth

Myth

Keane

You built it up, brick by brick,
Put your heart into this baseless myth

Notching it in like a child
Undress its when it rain wild,
You stop to fix your face, someone else step in, and took your place
Now everything you want knew, is running in circles around you
A car door slamming in your road, it tortures like a kick inside.
A year old message on your phone that catches you when you can’t hide.

I see you in the service station sign,
I see you in the supermarket line,
I see your silhouette on the wall,
But i don’t see myself there at all.

This fancy and bounce of words(word?),
Is the wagging tail of the neighbourhood,
The busy in cost confort,
And get that taste of the drama,
You stare through mindless daytime shows,
And curse yourself a growing old,
You stare also into your shaving phone,
Reminds you of another world

I see you in the roofless, on the sky
I see you in the ladder stop outside,
I see your silhouette on the wall,
But i don’t see myself there at all.

I see you in the sweetness of our child,
I see you supermarket aisle.
I see you and i kneeling on the floor,
And i can’t see myself anymore.

Hard times got the over hand
Stone or fervor plant,
Your faces shock me, spin me around,
But i won’t lie down

Hard times shape me to the bone,
Face proves, bloody nose,
Shell-shocked, crawling on the ground,
Still i won’t lie down

I won’t lie down
No, i won’t lie down
I won’t lie down

Something in me was dying
